Whatsapp on its 8th birthday on 24 February has updated its “status’ feature. However this time this new update has been under a lot of criticism. Everyone is hating that new “status update feature” due to following reasons.

  • The status update feature lets the users to update photos, GIFs and pictures with drawing or emotions as their new status instead of only text option.
  • Every updated status will disappear after 24 hours and a blank status will be shown afterwards unless updated again.
  • This temporary status feature will consume more average time updating the status again and again.
  • Your contacts can comment on your updated status, hence losing its core objective of instant messaging.
  • User can also see who has viewed their Status update by tapping the eye icon at the bottom of any Status update.
whatsappWhatsApp has been rolling out updates and features to make the app more secure for its users. Despite these new features however, users of the popular messaging app are not impressed by this “status update feature”.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjIUDRBFr1o
